Chelsea Patterson is an Environmental Science and Policy major with a concentration in politics and policy at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). She also received a certificate in Applied Agriculture with a concentration in Agricultural Leadership and Communication from UMD's Institute of Applied Agriculture. Chelsea is from Clarksville, Maryland, and is interested in working at the nexus of environmental protection and communication. She is the chair of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources' Dean's Student Advisory Council, where she works to encourage increased student involvement in the College. Chelsea previously was a student researcher at the University of Maine's Research Experience for Undergraduates program, where she conducted research related to the environmental, economic, and human health effects of the invasive browntail moth. Through the Summer '22 Joint-Internship with Dr. Tully and the Harry R. Hughes Center for Agroecology, Chelsea is looking forward to researching saltwater intrusion and communicating the findings to key stakeholders.
