Briana Otte
Former MS student
Briana Otte completed her masters degree in the Agroecology Lab in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture in 2018. She received her BS from the University of Maryland, College Park where she studied environmental science and policy and minored in Spanish. Her work examined the release of allelochemicals (phenolic acids) from cereal rye (see publication here) and nitrogen in agricultural soils (see publication here). Her research will be held at the United States’ Department of Agriculture’s Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC), where she has been working for 3 years before pursuing a master’s degree. Briana was co-advised by Dr. Steven Mirsky at USDA-BARC. Briana is currently employed in the office of Pesticide Programs at the US Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC.
