Dr. Patricia Ramalho de Barros Leite
Post Doctoral Researcher
Patricia completed her BS, MS and PhD from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV)- Brazil, focusing on Soil and Plant Nutrition. Her connection to the countryside and nature dates back to her childhood, as she is the daughter of farmers. This connection naturally led her to choose agronomy as her profession.
Throughout her academic journey, Patricia has dedicated herself to investigating the tolerance mechanisms of eucalyptus plants in situations of water deficit. During her doctoral studies, she studied the role of calcium in mitigating the effects of drought on eucalyptus plants through analyses that encompass physiological, nutritional, and molecular aspects.
Currently, she is a post-doc in the Agroecology Lab. She seeks to learn and contribute to the assessment of the impacts of saltwater intrusion on coastal ecosystems.
